CHAD
Industries Showcases New WaferMate™ Wafer
Handling Workcell at Semicon West 2005
WaferMate™ workcells
are designed to seamlessly integrate with
Fab
and Assembly equipment.
July '05, Anaheim, CA - Chad Industries,
Inc., a leading supplier
of factory automation solutions for the semiconductor, electronics,
and life
sciences
industries will be showcasing the latest generation of their wafer
handling workcells at the Semicon West tradeshow which opens next
week in San Francisco, CA. The WaferMate™ series
of workcells combine proven, reliable hardware with fully integrated
software, resulting
in the most robust solution for today’s wafer loading applications.
The WaferMate™ marks an evolution of traditional wafer handling
workcell design, offering a high degree of performance and flexability
at an exceptional value. Building on the success of the WLMTM series,
this latest workcell is significantly cost-reduced, permitting
automated wafer handling at a much lower cost of entry. Despite
this low cost, all of the established functions that customers
have come to expect have been retained. The workcell features a
PC-based (or optional Adept Technology) control system that enables
custom programming to address even the most demanding wafer handling
applications.
The WaferMate200™ is designed to accommodate wafers ranging in
size from 100mm to 200mm in diameter, and can be configured with
a broad range of options to meet specific handling requirements.
These options include special end effectors to address thin, double
sided, and glass wafer handling as well as OCR and barcode readers
for wafer identification and traceability. The WaferMate200™’s
surprisingly compact size and minimized footprint enable it to
support up to two process tools, and up to six 25 wafer cassettes.
The WaferMate300™ is designed to accommodate 300mm and 200mm wafers
via SEMI standard automated loadports. Both systems are designed
to be SEMI S2, S8, and CE compliant and are available with integrated
ISO Class 2 clean air systems.
“We
are extremely pleased with the WaferMate™ workcells,
and excited about the opportunities that the WaferMate™ will
offer to expand our market in the automated wafer handling industry” says
Scott Klimczak, president of Chad Industries. “We
have combined our many years of experience and creativity to come
up with a unique
product offering that combines reliable performance at an exceptional
value. We have listened to what the market has been asking for,
and believe that we have delivered that with the WaferMate™ series
workcells.”
The WaferMate200™ will
be displayed in the Chad Industries booth
#8207 during the Semicon West 2005 show.
Chad Industries designs, manufactures and markets
wafer handling solutions for the semiconductor industry, mechanical
and odd-form
component assembly solutions for the electronics industry, liquid
handling solutions for the life sciences industry, and other automated
handling, assembly and test solutions. CHAD began
operations in 1973 and established leadership in the electronics
assembly for
odd-form component to printed circuit assembly (CHAD IQ™ Product
Line). After being acquired by Adept, CHAD expanded their solutions
